Deben Bar
I recently had the chance to go back to my sailing roots, by taking a set of images of the River Deben entrance – a set of shifting shingle banks that have given more than one boat owner a set of shredded nerves. Firstly, I enjoyed capturing the images because they are useful and will help sailors understand what lies beneath. Secondly, it is such an inspirational landscape and the dawn light coupled with the flat calm makes it a sensational place to fly over and photograph. It is in places like this that I really am so grateful for drones and their ability to position the photographer perfectly in an unforgiving landscape.
